E31 Ported & Polished Throttle Body

Description

E31 ported and polished throttle body for the M60, M62 and M70 engines.

Throttle body has been opened up (typically 3mm), the butterfly valve and inner throttle body have been polished for maximum flow.

The main increase in flow through the middle of throttle body comes from removing half of the throttle shaft and countersinking the bolts connecting it into plate. By removing this restriction a large increase in flow through the center section is created. Just like installing a high flow air filter or free flowing exhaust this makes more power by allowing the air to flow more easily through the engine.

When all of that work is done we polish the inside surface to a mirror shine by gradually using finer and finer grits so the air doesn’t hit any bumps that would cause turbulence. Finally we sandblast and then paint the throttle body with black ceramic engine paint, masking off the gasket areas for leak free performance and protecting the electrical connectors.
