M62 High Pressure Power Steering Hose Replacement

Applies to: All BMW models with the M62 engine.

So got home (dad’s place) and 5 min later I was under the car…..

The new hose from MAX!

Un-clip the hose:

Undo both PS hoses from the bottom. The one I’m pointing at is the high pressure power steering hose.

Then the top bolt needs to come off.

I folded the hose back to have more room to get the bolt loose.

Due to lack of room I but a jack under the engine mount and lifted the motor 1 inch that made my life a lot easier!

The new one goes on:

But the clip back on:

New washers on both sides and both hoses:

Then fill the system, leave the cap off, start the car turn the wheels 2x left to right and all the air will get out of the system.

Top off fluid en enjoy your work. It took me 1.5 hours to do the job.

Found the pin hole leak in my old PS hose:
